Takapuna Beach

This airy, sea and sun-filled house was originally a family home for the grandparents’ of the current owners.

Located right on the beach with waves literally crashing into the garden wall, it was build before the era of modern indoor-outdoor living.

Removing some interior walls and inviting natural ligh in through the floor to ceiling windows created a happy and warm space.

Soft blues reflect the water and the everchaging sky surrounding this place. Interior has a right mix of feeling relaxed and sophisticated at the same time. One doesn’t feel too precious about that sand left on your feet after a walk on the beach.
